We all have those images of old time trappers slogging along in buckskins and snowshoes . The fact is this winter weather realy sucks for trapping . Water trapping is now for beaver only and with these temps means all underice sets near there runways . The coons hole up in this weather so there out muskrats and mink are very active in this weather but they are closed now that leaves ole Red fox the ones that are left are very smart and well learned in the ways of traps and lure but the diligint trapper will prevail . By setting in all conditions like a mailman not slleet ,snow or rain will deter this trapper . Wich also means this guy has laid in a large supply of dry dirt I thought I did this but I only have about 10 gals left it takes about a cooffe can full for each set so I could be out of dirt before too long . I wiil propably start up again soon maybe this sunday or next week . The upside is the fox are realy out on these cold bitter nights .
