Sats is opening day of spring gobbler season this will mark my 30th year chasing the longbeards and I have not bagged one yet but I still go . Ther something about walking thru the penns woodlands clucking like a hen and turning youre ears on high frequency listening for the gobble and when one goes off youre hairs on the back of youre neck will stand straight out and it dueling time with MR Turkey . O ver the years I have shyed away from the modern mouth callers and prefer the friction calls I carry 3 a box call, true slate and a fiberglass I still use the mouth callers but I think they get educated to them with everybody calling all the time so if you can give them something with a diffrent tone thatn maybe that will do the trick I also like thewingbone call made from the bone of a goose that my old deceased buddy Dennis Smith made for me . Dennis was the dean of turkey hunters as well as being a world class goose guide Dennis true love was turkey hunting he killed probably over a hundred in his time . As a matter of fact when he was laid out they put all his spurs on a neclace and there he laid with those spurs garnished around his neck and a boxxcall by his hand he was in his favorite suit but I am sure he would of preferd his favorite camo pattern . I hope I bag one this year maybe 30 is my lucky number .
