The derby was well attended by veterans, seniors from Nursing Homes & volunteers. A new club member, Patricia Wilson-Schmid, & I assisted by baiting hooks, landing fish, coaching, etc. Several other MLFT'ers were aslo there.
Personal satisfaction was rec'd when I taught an African American youth (his grandfather brought him) the proper method to rig a line. Later he proudly showed me a 16" rainbow & others he caught w/the "new" setup.
Another case was a Vet who was uncertain as to how to rig a line. I taught him each step & on the 2nd cast, he caught a trout.
Food was plentiful & the weather was sunny; it was a good day!
