Hello all I am still on the right side of the grass and livin the dream up here in Gods country . I have been fishing my usual spots down Penns creek and no real action till the edge of darkness when the spinners fall . You can also roll nymphs all day and pick off a few but it is work high sticking all day in the hot sun . I fished with some club members back when the guys came up to the feathered hook we did ok then sunday the rain came in and everybody left a tad early cause the green drakes were hatching all afternoon and they missed it oh well maybe next year . It got real warm that week and the coffin flys never touched down till like 9:30 pm and you could not see youre fly anymore but I nailed a few when I stayed that late . I tried a trick this year wich worked pretty good tying a small 16 tan spinner to the bend of the coffin fly this worked until it got true dark then u could not see either . I went to wall mart and got some glow in the dark tshirt paint and put one drop on the back of my flys but my headlamp is not enough to charge them up but they do glow I tried it at my bench with my lAMP AND THEY DO GLOW . bY THE WAY IF ANYBODY WANTS TO TRY THIS CALL ME I bought a whole kit and have enough paint till ill be eating out of a tube . 267 750 9610 . I also have been fishing spring creek and the bald eagle the bald eagle down at curtain is at 70 and lots of kayakers spring is always good and there are lots of rainbows now coming in from the bald eagle spring was at 60 last sat at milesburg . Joe Walton came up to fish last weekend we did ok at spring nymphing and missed a few that night on penns during another epic spinner fall yes the sulpher spinners are still on but right at dark . I fished up fishing creek a few weeks ago and nailed a real beauty of a brown right at dark on the tan spinner only 16 but it fought like a big Delaware brown and took a good while to the net this stream hast the coldest water and maybe thats why the fish fight so hard it was 55 on that night . Anyway is everybody seeing a pattern development here a size 16 tanspinner and dusk =nice fish . Here is my pattern for the tan spinner tail light dun micro fibbets body medium tan dubbing I use Baldicinos sulpher spinner dubbing wing case for visiability and floatability a small sliver of white 1/16 th sheet foam tied in about 2 hook eyes back from the eye were you would normaly tie in youre wings after tying this in lay about a half of hank of mcflyon wing material light dun in the crease figure 8 the wing trim it to length and dub some around the figure 8 wraps bring the foam up and over the figure 8 wraps and tie off forming a wing case for visability and flotation tie off youre head and complete . This is the fly I catch most all my fish on at dusk . I went down the kish on sunday and caught a few on the black fymph thsaanks to Dave Baker and I realy had to work em with a lot of extra hand action swing like youre leading the Tommy Dorsey band . Thanks Dave .
