Not to compare myself to Doug MacArthur but I did return to the Jordan . Iwent up yesterday and started with my streamer/leadcore set up . I worked my way from a starting point upstream and went down thru covering all the runs and pools without a touch .After reaching the end of my beat I revamped my rig .I setup with my nymph rig and a floating line I used the greenweeny and a worm fly tied on to the greenweeny in tandem.I proceeded to nail about 6 trout in as many casts right at the pool were I ended the streamer run . After this hole went dead I proceeded upstream were I stuck several more but failed to land them . I also lost alot of nymphs on the bottom this is a sure way to tell if you are fishing right . I also met 2 other club members up there and they did not fare as well as I . I find to be an acomplished nympher you have to realy be comited to it and stop trying to incorparate all that dryfly technoligy into youre fishing .The first mistake is using good store bought leaders that are too limp and hard to keep on a tight drift . My rig is very simpel about a 6'piece of 25lb stren bright green or the blue whi8chever is on sale to this I tie in my sighter / indicator about a 12" piece of orange amnesia to the end of this I tie in a tippewt ring then to this I attach about a 4 to 6' piece of regular florocarbon line I buy at dicks on sale for like under 10$ for a coupel hundred yards . This is youre tippet and to fish this rig you toss youre weighted rig upsdteam and keep all youre line off the water ecept for youre sighter and if that sighter moves you set the hook . After awhile we left the Jordan to go seek out some dryfly action down the little lehi wich is only 5 miles away . We arrived there and it quite overcast and drizzling I thought it would be perfect for the batis hatch but none were visibel on the water or in the spider webs at the wooden bridge . I spoptted a few risers and got into position by the way wading is allowed again here so I just hoped in and waded into position . There were 2 fish rising 1 was realy goimg good infront of a debris pile however when I waded in 2 ducks were on the bank and swam right over to were the riser was feeding and proceeded to root all around this trouts lie thus spoiling the fishing for this one .The second fish was still going upstream anmd I covered him with my BWO emerger it took one cast amd I got him . I looked for more risers but no more were visabel so Jack and I headed downstream to the open water at the redcoverd bridge. As I pulled up I could see an active riser by the 309 bridge I coverd him with the emerger and got him a nice nativbe brown that leaped about 5 times more so then any of the stockers rainbows I caught up on the Jordan . Jack was thrilled so I gave him an emerger and he proceded to catch one below the redcoverd bridge . This was my best day yet this year wit 2 firsts for the year 1 brooky and my 1st dryfly fish it was a good day .
