Well I finaly got all my beaver gear ready last week . I put in 5 sets over on the pennypack in H.V. . The 1'st night was a big zero and nothing in the traps . The next morning was better trap 1 a castor mound set held a sprung trap with it 1/2 way down the drowning wire . Trap 2was all the way down the wire and I thought I had one but just more hair and an empty trap . The 3'rd trap was also gone and bingo there was a huge brown blob down at the drowning sack wahhoo my 1st beaver and a giant one at that he was caught by a hind foot and quickly drowned in the waist high water . My 1st beaver was a huge one and I guess he weighed around 40lb or better . I t was quite a chore to bring him back and there was no way I was carrying him all the way back down the rr tracks to my truck so I stashed him near the train station and came back with my truck and picked him up I had to show him off so I took him in the train station to show the girl who let me park there while I picked up my stashed beaver she never saw one before and was quite supprised to have them nearby . Well I think I pinched the other 2 that sprung my traps no doubt caught in the belly when they swam up to the castor mounds so they wont come back to those traps even after they were relured on sat . I pulled out today with 5 more empty traps due to the big rain coming tomorrow I do not want to lose any more traps due to floods . M aybe the rain will rejuvinate the area and I can get another crack at them I stiil need to get a sticker on my truck and when I do that I can go venture out to other spots I had scouted and try those beaver . Also it took me 2 hours to put up that 1 pelt it stertched out about 30 in ches maybe a blanket size wich should bring over 30 bucks also I saved the castor glands and the oil sacks they also bring money . Ed I have saved the tsail for you it is in the freezer and I will bring to the next meeting .
Would you please post your hunting & trapping stuff in the "Hunting Lodge" section of the forum. Let's keep this area "The Club House" for stuff related to the club and or fly fishing.
Here's the link to "The Hunting Lodge" section of the forum.
What happened to freedom of speech noone reads the hunting lodge section so I put it here and i get more replys . Why dontyo u make up a new column for the crying ***** bags section
No one's asking you to not talking about hunting and trapping. Just asking you to follow the forum guidelines and post your topics to the appropriate area.
I will do the reason I post my adventures on there is due to the fact thaat I am still using the librarys computer and I only have a certain amount of time and this is the first heading under the forums section . I will in the future post my trapping and hunting in the appropriate section to apese all the antis and treehugers . Why dont we let Clevland Amory join as well as Jane Fonda and all the other anti hunting /trapping liberal bleeding hearts .
Got nothing to do about being anti-anything. The forum has a place for talking 'hunting' stuff. If the 'forum' were anti-hunting, there wouldn't be a specific place setup to talk about it.
As to Jane Fonda and her type. If you want them on the forum - you'll have to get them to join the club before they can join the forum. The forum is for club members.
Life is good! I started out with nothing and I still have half of it left!
