Well the cast and blast went off on schedule with only 3 members attending, Wayne, Rick, and myself (Dave). We were guessing that the storm kept everyone away. I hope everyone pulled out OK without too much dammage.

We waited till after 9:00 before we began our quest. The first field we hit we saw nothing but there were 4 hunters with a dog and they cleaned up. They had 9 birds go up but they only got 5. Not bad but they said they wouldn't have gotten any without the dog.

We hit a few more fields then we finally saw a cock bird. It flew up and Rick hit it (as there was a big puff of feathers) but the damm bird kept on flying. Well that was all the excitment for the day.

We then did lunch and hit another field with the same results. We then did a little expolring in the area for future spots to hunt and fish. The Po was really moving so Rick called it a day, and me and Wayne decided to give it a try anyway.

We fished under the 209 bridge for 3 hrs and got nothing. I had two good hits but i guess i'm not that good of a fisherman cause i didn't connect with either one of them.

All in all we had a good time even though we went home empty handed

Good for you guys, I'm surprised the other hunters never showed.
I never got into hunting because it was not part of my childhood but I went to a coupla cast and casts when the water wasn't ripping so fast. The Lehigh was at record high levels earlier in the week.

Two words of advice nickel plated shot and a 12 guage .When I was ayoungster I had dusted a few roosters with the 20 and they also flew away thats when I got myself a real gun the 12 guage made for killin not show . I discovered the magic of nickel plated shot when I got into reloading and tried some out I killed a cockbird once at 70 yrds stone dead on the fly maybe if you have to carry a 20 cause youre elderly or weak you should get some nickel plated loads go in halvesys with some of youre buddys and the few shots a year you get you will actualy killl something. . Good luck by the way I killed myself another swamp donkey only a small rack but huge body it will eat good . I will wtrite the story in the hunting section .
