Some updates for these year are:
Legal shooting hours have been extended to one-half-hour after sunset for all game and the September Canada goose season. The
only exceptions are for migratory game birds and waterfowl, which are governed by federal guidelines. For those species, federal guidelines require daily hunting hours to close at sunset.
Bowhunters can now hunt with both a bow and arrow and a muzzleloading firearm during the early muzzleloader and late flintlock seasons, providing they have both an archery and muzzleloader license and meet the fluorescent orange clothing requirements of the muzzleloader season.
All hunters and spotlighters who have a License to Carry Firearms Permit can now carry firearms, but only those authorized by the permit, which are defined in Title 18, Section 6102 of the Crimes Code. (Most sporting arms are not authorized.)
Additional antlerless deer hunting opportunities are available in WMUs 2B, 5C and 5D (see deer section).
Antlered deer have been added to the list of eligible species for youngsters under the age of 12 participating in the Mentored Youth Hunting Program. A week of hunting has been added to the late (winter) season for rabbit, squirrels and pheasants.
The 2008 spring gobbler season has been extended to include the Memorial Day weekend Monday holiday.
WMU 2A has been added to the list of WMUs where those who receive one of the limited number of permits can hunt or trap one bobcat.
