Posted - 07/30/2007 : 00:18:19 I have had one for at least 5 years now . I don't know why more members don't . The cost is not prohibative you can roof them on a vw bug they open up miles of unaceesabel water you can bring 2 or even 3 rods rigged with diffrent systems cold drinks and afull lunch you can even stand in the more expensive ones. Imagine fishing down stream for 5or 10 miles without being totaly spent afterwards .I know certain members are ANTIBOAT AND THATS THERE PROBLEM .I know I can learn more holes and locations of prime spots in one day than it would take a foot angler years to learn .If a few of our open minded maembers would put out maybe 350 to 500 for a boat we could do floats on the lehigh or tulpy not to mention the big d .I know alot of guys say 'I LIKE A CANOE AND I can get one of those colman jobs at kmart for cheap "I like swimming but I'M not going to buy a coleman canoe to do it .Try getting that on aVW.The salmon river is also aprime spot after salmon season of course . The list goes on and on you can even mail somewere and use it when you get there like Montanna or some other topspots like the green river .I never used mine in a lake but I know alot of local lakes will be set up for the fall stocking . Prime time for the new boat I just got a swecond boat at Cabeelas I needed one for 300 lb capacity I PAID 500 thats 1.36 a day I also have aDave Scadden that one is high end and has all the bells and whistels the fish cat fromcabellas is all the boat an average person would ever need they float in like 3 inches of water and weigh like 60 lbs . I will say that apontoon will open up areas were you could never reach before and all you need to launch is any bridge or path to the stream and some good partnersto shuttel with you can even float the upper lehigh through all that Club water take somwere down stream .
