Posted - 02/22/2015 : 01:42:38 Drove up to the Brodhead two sundays ago. Air temps were in the 40's Water temp was 35/36. Heavily overcast and started sleeting/raining as soon as I stepped in the stream and rained off an on during the day. Nymphed a few spots but no luck. Not surprising since I usually do poor on the Brodhead in winter. Other streams close by are usually a few degrees warmer and fish better but they had too much ice to fish. Brodhead was open from below the Moose lodge to the bend below Stroudsburg.Above that had a lot of ice. Black stones were hatching. Took a look and McMichaels and Pocono were frozen pretty good. With the cold we had last week it may be a skating ring by now.
