Posted - 04/09/2014 : 12:29:55 Well despite the weather we had this winter ,its a sure sign of spring when we have our day up at Resica . Although it was a tad frigid and the creek was high I think a good day was had by all the attendes . I am glad to be a part of the teaching staff once again this year and I hope I drove home my point . I do believe my cousins daughter is all that much more enlightened she is only 12 and these kids today can easily loose intrest . It would have been nice if she caught a nice trout and indeed that intrest would be well ingrained in her . Anyway I promised to take her out on the Musconecetkong on her easter vacation we are shooting for the Wed. of that week I sugested that she get some meal worms till she gets the jist of the dead drift and then the conversion to flys should be simple . I do not were I am going on the opener this weekend normaly I would open my camper but the I.R.S says I owe them this year so that puts me in a bit of a financial quandry . None the less maybe Iwill do the Broadhead even though it has fallen out of favor with me over the last decade . Ever since they made it into a cultivated park setting it just does not hold its charm for me as before when it was more of awild place as well as the way the creek itself has changed course especialy behind the moose . I always wanted to fish it down below rt 80 were the Mcmichaels dumps in that looks like some nice water and a bit more wild but I do not know how you can acess this stretch . I have been tying some flys to sell at this months meeting 4 classic Maine streamers tied on tubes they are as follows Grey Ghost , White Ghost ,Black Ghost and the Supervisor these are tied on tubes at a length that would equel a #4 streamer hook I also have tied up some HIVIZ Dry Flys all the early season hatches will be covered with flys that us old timers can see on the water . Depending on how I make out at the Furdealers this week I may haave some raw Beaver to sell I will cut it up in 4"x4" pieces beaver makes great dubbing . I hope to see everybody either at the Broadhead or the next mweeting .

Posted - 04/09/2014 : 16:27:05 Birky, why don't you try out the new stretch above the 191 bridge that Don Baylor was discussing. Its catch/release and not the park setting you have come to dislike. Then you could give us an unbiased report. Wait, you have never issued an unbisased report. Never mind. just let us know how you do.
