I have been remiss in my self imposed duty to add content to this sputtering forum of ours, apparently everyone reads it but nobody but us chickens post any topics, that's alright, I sorta like my posts best anyway. Well New Hampshire Fish and Game has finally concluded that they're pissin in the wind trying to reintroduce an Atlantic Salmon run to the ocean. It's been a nice ride while it lasted , this final brood stocking included all of the remaining hens and bucks and the fishing looked silly good. I managed to talk my padawan into going with me to close up the cabin and get some flyfishing in, he's new to the long rod but knows his way around a trout stream. He also has a camp up in NC Pa. which we stayed at this past spring and hit Pine and Spruce creeks among other places. I decided to fish upstream from the fish dump in my new favorite section of the Pemi and give JB the quick and dirty lessons of the swing.

I believe this is his first bow on the fly, when he butt hooked him I knew he was a natural Mainliner. Cast, mend upstream, remove slack, line stops, set hook, did I miss anything? I let him practice his swingin and tied on hairwing caddis that I tie for up here at this time to see if I could bring 'em up to the top. I had a nice swirly miss so kept casting and skittering and lo and behold, Atlantic salmon on a dry.

My sister lives on Bainbridge Island off of Seattle and sent me a garage sale Sage that I've been using, pretty darn sweet sister.
Anyway, after I landed this one , I hooked a monster way downstream who jumped and landed right on the leader and broke it right off. You know, just stinging that second one and see him leap a few feet out of the water is not a sight I'll soon forget.

We left Baker sitting on his favorite rock when we went upstream and eventually worked our way back down

So ends another season up north, already just a memory that gives me a few more smiles than I had before, see ya on the wate, just stay the hell away from my hole

Nice report and good seeing a pic of the beav. I think that seeing a jumping salmon is something everyone should experience. When I was fishing in Ireland I heard a splash, turned to see where it was and saw a salmon in the air. Priceless.

Do they make a gps that can get wet? I have a commando phone that can get wet but I refuse to bring my phone with me on the water, that has gps but it's my only gps. I can give you walking directions or biking directions or driving directions but no gps for you. Next

ummm, errr, if GPS is too high tech for you, how's 'bout latitude and longitude co-ordinates. I'll trade you some cicada cases.

Life is good! I started out with nothing and I still have half of it left!

If you give me the GPS co-ordinates for it, I'll be sure to avoid it.
