Well here in central Pennsy we have a cult of coyote trappers aka known as wolfers . Awolfer was a term used by westerners for old timey government trappers that were hired by the government to trap coyotes and wolves to protect livestock . These wolfers are still working for uncle sam today but mostly a younger hitech bunch that are mostly employed out west . Well IO am here to say that I am now a member of thast cult . Friday a week ago I was heading up to check my last 2 traps up in the high meadow were I caught the bobcat . As I crested the last rise and broke out inyto the last flat before trhe trees there stood a very big and pissed off coyote bleeding at the mouth from nawing on the trap firmly attached to his front paw success is sweet and that coyote puts me in the league of wolfers. I quickly dispatched him and took several pictures remade the set and headed back to the base . Before skinning any critter I always weigh them this fellow weighed in at 35 lbs next came the skinning well boys and girls I am here to tell ya when the good Lord made the Coyote I feel he did not mean for its pelt to come off . I mean you talk about a tough skinning job that hide is glued on and trying to pull those front legs out wow a job for Hercules . I think it would be a lot easier to skin right away out in the field before riggor sets in . Anyway I got it skinned it ook like an hour its in the freezer waiting for colder weather for the final put up so the flys wont land on the pelt and create maggots . I nailed a second one the next morning all leg and not as full bodied as the first one maybe a pup to the 1st one . I got a third one sat for a total of 3 .
