I do not know who used to trap or who is trapping nowadays . But with furs selling at historical highs I started trapping again last year . Fox pelts are bringing the most money here in Pa and with this area having the highest red fox population in the whole country I thought I would get an early jump on things . TO catch lots of fox you must follow a simple Equasion drydirt +clean and treated traps+lots of places = many fox pelts . Monday when this heatwave hit I stated gathering dirt at a nearby vacant landtrack were a builder went bellyup and there are lots of piles of dirt left behind from the culdasack and road construction . This may also be a potential fox spot anyways I gather the dirt take it back home in 5 gal buckets sift it and add 5 qts of peatmoss dump it on a board on the driveway and let the sun dry out the mixture . Later whern the season opens I will start adding an antifreeze agent to totaly weather proof the mixture . Any way I already have one big trash can full of this dirt and I am stating a second one . I f anyone hears of someone having problems with fox ,coon or any other critters call me and I will go get em .
