Posted - 04/01/2013 : 15:52:56 NY license is 300 I could probably bunk up with one of my friends that live up there . The pelts would have to be rough skined and frozen then fleshed and stretched when I got home . This would be the only expense and of course gas . The payback is OTTERS 60 to 100 each Bobcats up to 1000 each and as low as 100 , Mink 30 to40 EACH . As well as all the other comn animals fox, muskrat , coons etc . The good thing is that you could trap the whole delaware system and all the backwaters and open areas along the banks without permission as long as you are in the high water mark also all road culverts and parellel drainige ditches are open to the trappers in NY YOU COULD RUN A LINE JUAST SETTING CULVERTS . |

Posted - 03/29/2013 : 15:17:18 They are nice but here in pennsy we have a 6 1/2" jawspread limit . The beaver did not get away with my trap he just got away . I am already plotting out next years trap line and I am thinking about trapping one of our neighboring states with NY as my top pick . NY has no limits on any of there furbearers ecept pine martins . Fishers ,Beavers,Otters, and Bobcats are all unlimited and can be caught with a long season and unlimited amount of traps . It realy cracks me up how far behind Pennsy is with there gamelaws . NY is only a hundred yards away and they allow trapping and no limits on the aformentioned furbeares . While here in Pennsy we can not even trap Otters , Bobcats and Fishers require a special tag and the limit is one each .Also there season s on Muskrat and Mink goes into March here in Pennsy it goes out Jan 6th just when the mink are reaching full prime and basicly on the upper D the same animals are swimming the same waters and the bobcats and fishers are only 100 yds away . M aybe one day Pennsy will get there head out of there ass and catch up to everybody else . |
