I had stashed my climber over there about a week earlier and it was still setup from the night before . At about 9 am I climbed out of my ladder stand and proceedeed over to the climber stand 'loggybayou' . I shimed up the tree and pulled up all my gear I then started right in on a rattling sequence and some grunting . I T WAS NOT TOO LONG AFTER THAT AND ANICE BUCK APPEARED UP THE WOODLOT AND THEN DISAPEARED . . i WAS SITING THERE THINKING WEREDID HE GO HE JUST VANISHED LIKE WHITETAILS OFTEN CAN DO . jUST AFTER i HAD THIS THOUGHT HE WAS IN MY LAP AND HE WAS WALKING AT A NORMAL GAITE HEAD DOWN HAIRS UP HE WAS LOOKING FOR THE DUELL THAT MY PHONY ANTLERS AGRUNTING SOUNDS MADE . Ihad like 2 seconds to respond I stood up grabbed my bow off the hook let him pass behind a tree and came to draw I picked a spot behind the shoulder at let the arrow fly . It hit the deer squarely in what looked like the shoulder it wheeled and ran for the woodlot and imeadetly crashed in a nearby brush pile I saw the arrow hanging out of it when it ran it then got up quickly and staggered about 100 yds and fell again the head came up and it ran about 10 feet and collapsed . I knew it was down for good but I wanted to give it a little extra time . I came down the tree and everything looked diffrent I checked the log were I thought it ran and colapsed but I did not see any thing . I started to panic did he run into the swamp when I came down the tree ?I was going to go back up and scan the area with the binocs when I noticed some bright red on a tree out of my periphiasl vision . I walked over and there was a pool of blood the size of a tire and about an inch deep but the deer was not there . I looked around and there it was right at my foot .a nice 7 pointer . The meat filled 3 boxes the size of a case of beer and the Meat filled my freezer . I can kill 2 more does and I might go out on weds .
